Intel Excellence in Electronics



The Department of Education and Science, in partnership with Intel Ireland Ltd. run an annual electronic skills competition.  This competition is open to all full-time students studying electronics and related courses registered with DIT.  There are two stages to the competition :


DIT Final  This involves a theory examination in electronics, which usually takes place in early February.  There are monetary prizes for the best DIT candidates.  These past papers give an indication of the standard.

National Final  A number of weeks after the DIT final, the DIT winner(s) go forward to the National Final which takes place at an Institute of Technology to be decided and the INTEL Ireland site in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.  The National final in recent years consisted of two practical projects which assessed the circuit building and debugging skills of the competitors.  Software programming skills may also be assessed.  Again, there are monetary prizes for the best candidates.
