Dr. Qian Wang, received the PhD degree of Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 2004. In 2003, he worked as a visiting scientist in the Alfven Laboratory, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden and joined the Applied Optoelectronics Centre, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) in 2004.
He is interested in photonic modeling & design , developing photonic components/systems and their applications in information and communication technology, sensing, measurement and so on, including optical fiber sensing, integrated photonics, liqui crystal photonics etc. Nearly 70 papers have been presented in academic journals in these areas and two patents have been granted to date. He also serves as a reviewer for international journals such as IEEE Photonic Technology Letters, Applied Optics, Journal of Lightwave Technology, Optics Express and Optics Communications.
He is a member of Optical Society of America.
