DescriptionThis module deals with topics from, three main areas: power conversion, linear applications, and active filter design. In the power conversion area the students review basic linear supply configurations before being introduced to switching power supplies. This material is covered in enough detail to make the students aware of the advantages and disadvantages of each type, and to give the students a basic awareness of the design issues involved. The linear applications area covers circuits that students will have mostly seen before, but here these circuits will be covered in more detail taking into account some second order effects. Finally, the students are introduced to the topic of filter design, with particular emphasis on active filter circuit configurations.A brief description of the module.
