Information for Career Guidance Counsellors

In the DIT's School of Electronic and Communications Engineering we provide a range of programmes from Higher Certificate through Ordinary Degree and Honours Degree up to MSc, and on up to postgraduate research at PhD level. Our qualifications are highly regarded by industry, and our graduates are sought after by employers. Our Honours Degrees (DT081 and DT021) are accredited by Engineers Ireland, and graduates of those programmes are eligible for full membership of Engineers Ireland, and for Chartered Engineer status after suitable work experience.

Careers in Engineering

For introductory information on careers in engineering, and particularly electronics, communications and computer engineering read our "Careers in Engineering" presentation (pdf format, 650K). The presentation is suitable for second level pupils looking for general information about a career in engineering.
